Fear is our natural response towards potential danger. Nevertheless, our psyche may associate strange symbols with potential threat just because we have unresolved feelings in our unconscious mind.
The picture that you'll see below is a perfect image for psychoanalysis of your hidden unconscious fear.
The picture itself triggers your unconscious brain to connect figures with fear because it presents a subliminal message of a skull, which is the symbol of fear itself. It gives your unconscious brain a note of fear. The first figure you notice reveals what your biggest fear is.
The test is quick and easy. Its effectiveness is incredible. All you need to do is to read about the first figure that caught your eye.
1. Little Girl
If the first figure you noticed in this image were the little girl, your fears would stream from repressed feelings that come from your childhood.
There are many types of events that can mark a kid’s mind. If they aren't properly elaborated, they will possibly surface in the adulthood in shape of worries, addictions, cognitive patterns and inappropriate desires.
Your relationship with your mother is significant for your emotional development. If as the child you had to spend too much time separated from the maternal figure, or if your mother has given little or no affection for you during your early childhood, it's possible that these traumas are projected unconsciously through concealed fears.
This way a kid may develop a fear of making decisions or taking responsibilities.
Interestingly, the trauma doesn’t have to be in the childhood, it can also be immediately in the infancy, or in the perinatal phase, during gestation or delivery.
2. Butterfly
The butterfly is one of the symbols that's usually connected to positive meaning. Nevertheless, there is a deeper unconscious meaning to that symbol that derives from a darker place.
Based on the interpretation of dreams, we know that the butterfly is a sign of opportunities and new beginnings.
A bright and colorful butterfly can be a sign of good hope, a new beginning in someone’s life while a colorless butterfly is connected to an unrealized opportunity that could have served us.
The spiritual meaning of the butterfly is a conveyor of souls in the afterlife. It can lead the butterfly to the world of the dead.
So, if the first thing you noticed on this image was the butterfly than your unconscious fears come from the fear of death, or the other side that's the fear of not living, missing opportunities. You could also resist to the suppressed emotions of grief by your loved ones who aren't there anymore.
3. Strawberry
The strawberry that's placed perfectly in the center of the image and size far bigger than the fruit is in reality, symbolizes the heart. The strawberry has represented a symbol of love since a long time ago.
If the first figure you noticed is that of strawberry, what you are searching for is in your heart. Your greatest fears stream from the unconscious resistance you have towards love.
This fear comes from emotional resistance towards something as amazing as love, and it often comes from our childhood and how our parents showed their feelings about each other in front of their kids. Nevertheless, it may come from an intense heartbreak in one of your first relationships you had as a child.
The exaggerated size of the strawberry shows how much love you have to give. It indicates that there's so much love you are suppressing in yourself that you fear to give because you believe you will be punished.
4. Spider
The spider is one of the most common fears people have. It’s an evolutionary survival mechanism that makes us extra aware of little dangers that can surround us.
However, a spider symbolizes a deeper unconscious fear that our surrounding isn't safe.
If you have seen the spider figure first on this image, it means that your unconscious fears stream from your inability to feel totally safe in your environment.
You always pay attention to the details and try to discover something wrong or dangerous even in the safest places. That constant outlook for danger doesn't allow you to surrender to beautiful and pleasant moments completely, and you often overthink your every plan. Anxiety and panic attacks may be something you are familiar with, and you struggle to get over.
The unconscious fear of not being safe usually comes by an overactive amygdala combined with apprehensive behavior. You may have been raised by parents who worry too much, or it may be a mindset you’ve developed yourself.
5. Trees
The tree is one of the most powerful psychological symbols. One of the best psychoanalytical tests evaluates a person’s psyche by the position he/she draws a tree on a piece of paper.
The tree symbolizes your roots, and in this case, it has a deeper meaning. Two trees that form a bridge are likely to symbolize that within us there's an inner conflict that we haven't yet been able to solve. There is an emotional split that we cannot merge.
If what you saw on the image was the two trees, it means that your greatest fears stream from accepting that unconscious emotional split. You fear of accepting some part of yourself as yours. So, you are developing your identity around this shadow self, and you're resisting to merge it with yourself.
6. Teddy Bears
The one way that every child can always find comfort is by cuddling their teddy bear. It’s the getaway place for every child, a place of understanding, safety, and warmth.
That’s what a teddy bear symbolizes; your unconditionally understanding friend, your safe place that's full of warmth and love. When fear is around every child hugs its teddy, that’s kids' natural response.
Nevertheless, the teddy bears on this image are a bit twisted, and the fact that you noticed them first reveals something intriguing. You are afraid of being afraid.
