These are Barclay, the Golden Retriever and his best pal, a 4-year-old Pekin duck Rudy, who want to teach you something important about friendship.
As happens with all great friendships, this one had a rather bumpy beginning, when Barclay found out just how tasty the stolen duck chow is. Rudy, as the alpha duck of his group, was trying to chase Barclay away from it. However, soon the Golden Retriever became such a frequent visitor that it was just a matter of time before these two guys clicked.
The owner, Pam Ishiguro said to Daily Mail: “When they are together, somebody is always chasing or jumping on someone else, but when they are apart, they’re always calling for each other.”
These guys have already developed a healthy friendship, where everybody is getting something out of it. For instance: “[Barclay] likes to drink their bath water and, if he happens to be stealthy enough, he loves to sniff a little duck butt.” On the other hand, Rudy has become a fan of dog climbing: “Now Rudy has to ‘claim’ Barclay every once in a while by climbing on top of him. Barclay doesn’t seem to mind terribly because that gives him the opportunity to sniff Rudy’s butt – win-win!”
Even though no friendship is without its quirks, these two friends solve their conflicts with cuddling and playing together: “Rudy and Barclay need each other – I think that’s why they have such a strong bond, they’re like the oddballs on the playground. No one else will play with them, so lucky for them, they found each other.” (h/t)

ReplyDeleteWow, they are so cute! You should make a pirate ship style playhouse for them to hang around and have fun together.
ReplyDeleteWe had dogs growing up too, but, they were ranch dogs so they "went" out in the fields. My old man wouldn't let them go on the lawn or eat too much pig ear snacks.
