Trees have been around for approximately 370 million years, and as you can notice from these amazing pictures, there's a good reason why they have survived for so long. Whether they are growing in the middle of gale-force winds, inside concrete tunnels, or even out of each other, trees know how to survive even in places that few living organisms can. That explains why the planet is host to approximately 3 trillion adult trees that cover around 30% of the earth's land. Trees (and plants in general) produce the vast majority of the oxygen that we breathe, which means we should all think ourselves very lucky that trees are as resilient as they are.
