Our world is obsessed with money. We live in a consumer society where we're overwhelmed with reasons why we should buy more products and services. We work into a life cycle of debt so that we can afford a big house or possess the latest gadgets. For many of us, money is the most important part of our lives. Our desire to have more money is equal to survival.
It’s important to note that no matter how much money we have, we still seem to be lacking a true sense of worth – something that's more enriching and fulfilling. In a way, we know that money can't buy happiness, but given the capitalist societal structure, we are unable to establish a world where money doesn’t exist.
However, Daniel Suelo made the difference. He has been living without money since 2000. He has experimented with various other ways of getting by and has dedicated his life to living naturally – without the need of money and the credit-debt duality. He speaks about “doing for the sake of doing and not for future reward” and shows that life can be lived in abundance, without the urge for a bank balance.
