While real estate prices are constantly rising, Italian Renato Vidal has introduced us to a fascinating alternative to traditional housing. The M.A.Di., a flat pack, folding home, costs only $33K and three individuals can actually assemble it in any flat location in around six hours.
The building is certified as seismically secure and built with high-quality material. The M.A.Di. comes in various sizes, ranging from a 290-square-foot home which costs $33K to a 904-square-foot design which costs $73K. Each basic model includes a bathroom with sanitary facilities, kitchen connections, a stage staircase as well as technical installations.
Once on site, the building can even be constructed with no concrete foundation. Its structures can be assembled to go entirely off-grid with the addition of solar panels, greywater systems, as well as LED lighting. Delivery time takes up to sixty days after the acceptance of the final drawings.
