Infographic: Which Countries Invest The Most In Education?

SHARE:

Expenditure on education varies significantly among countries, as reported by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The percentage of public expenditure which has been allocated to the education system has been expanding in latest years, and the OECD average currently stands at 12.9% of total public expenditure.

New Zealand is actually at the top of the scale - 21.6% of the country's total public expenditure is dedicated to education. Mexico isn't far behind with 20.5%. Things are similar in Brazil where a notable proportion of public finances, 19.2%, gets spent on the education system. That figure is 13.6% for the US and 12.2% for the UK. Italy, on the other hand, trails a long distance behind with 8.6%.

  2. Well, what can i say, i`m really surprised that i can find Mexico and Brazil in this infographic. I mean, sure, they invest a lot in education, but i never thought they can rank so high. And US is only 6. We have a lot of potential to improve this next years. You know, we have to really improve out educational system. But students also have to change their mind. All they want now is to purchase essay, not write their own even with all resources they have. I hope this will change soon. Thank you for sharing this infographic.

  4. Hello. Thanks for the informative article. I did not think that the USA is already in 4th place. Suddenly)
It is good that even in some countries it is understood that the quality education of our children is our future. After all, they, becoming specialists, will begin to develop the country.
Yes, perhaps many of the students need homework help, but this is because they do not explain how to do it. I think that if they explained everything and told them, it would be easier and more interesting for the students to learn)
