Genius Dog Invents Unique Currency To Purchase Treats Daily

Negro is the unofficial mascot of a school. They offer him food, shelter, and water. In return, he looks after the place.

While he was wandering around the campus, Negro noticed that the school kids were buying snacks from a stand during a class break. Seeing that the children were exchanging something that looked like leaves, for cookies, he went and engaged in some commerce himself.

"He comes for cookies every day," Gladys Barreto, a longtime store attendant said.

"He always pays with a leaf. It is his daily purchase."

Unbelievable as it is, the dog has been doing this for years now.

The school staff has made sure he is only getting treats safe for dogs to eat. They also limit his purchases to just a couple a day.

"When you first see it, you almost want to cry," Bernal said. "He's found a way to make himself understood. He's very intelligent."
