Pretty much everybody on Earth owns at least one pair of jeans, and for a good reason. Jeans look great on both men and women, they are hugely versatile, and despite the fact that they have been around since the 19th century, people can't get enough of them.
That's the reason why they are continually being reinvented, as fashion brands experiment with the classic jeans look we've all loved.
Today, there are jeans with a zipper for your butt. Vetements collaborated with Levis and launched a pair of "high-distressed jeans" with a zipper spanning the length of your buttcrack.
Some jeans have detachable pant legs (I guess some think this is practical):
There are even mud-splattered jeans (and yes, people buy those):
The original "experimental jeans" were, of course, the ripped jeans that have now pretty much become a standard pair. Everyone loves ripped jeans - it is a fashion trend which hasn't waned, even if it's been around for quite a while.
Plus it is relatively easy to make your DIY rips (the video will show you the best tricks for that):
Now, you might be used to ripped jeans looking a bit like this:
However, in the name of sensibility, there should at least be a 7:3 ratio of fabric to the lack of fabric. Especially if they are going to be expensive.
It would be quite outrageous to label these jeans a pair of pants, considering that they barely cover anything:
In fact, they cover less than a tiny pair of daisy dukes. These jeans are available at CARMAR Denim. They're being referred to as "extreme cut out jeans."
The jeans retail at a staggering $166 which sounds like daylight robbery in my opinion. They look like a pair of jeans which has been butchered, beyond repair, by a six-year-old armed with a pair of scissors.
And while you may assume that no one in their right mind would willingly pay a hundred dollars almost literally for nothing, apparently the pair has been soaring in popularity in the US. One can only imagine that this had something to do with Coachella festivalgoers' hunt for the perfect outfit.
These jeans have become so popular that there is a wait-list for purchases! That's right - they are sold out!
Nevertheless, I will stick with my reasonable tame standards and keep on buying jeans that I can wear in public, maybe with a subtle rip or two if I am feeling brave.

Just buy cheap jeans and an exacto knife.
