31 Extraordinary Places To Visit In North America

The itinerary for a typical sightseeing journey to North America typically includes some of the same old hot spots: National Parks in Canada, the historical landmarks of the US, and, of course, Mexico’s beaches. However, scattered throughout the continent are several unusual sights that you won’t find in a travel guide!

Several of them are attractions worth planning trips or excursions around, while others are simple places, monuments, or sights worth keeping an eye out only for as part of a longer trip. Yet, these 31 of these travel destinations have one thing in common: all of them are among the strangest and coolest landmarks in North America!

Carhenge (Alliance, Nebraska): Who needs to travel to the UK to see the mysteriously stacked stones of Stonehenge when you can take a drive through the Great Plains and see cars spray-painted to look like sandstone?

The Wave (Coconino County, Arizona): Nestled between Arizona and Utah, the sandstone formation allures hikers and photographers from all over the planet. Because of its fragility, however, hikers must be granted a permit to access it.

Winchester Mystery House (San Jose, California): People killed by Winchester rifles allegedly haunt the mansion once owned by the widow of firearm’s magnate William Winchester. Architectural anomalies, such as staircases to nowhere, fill the house.

Road Unraveled

Thor’s Well (Cape Perpetua, Oregon): Often referred to as the Drainpipe of the Pacific, the 20-foot sinkhole located just off the Oregon coast looks like it’s draining the sea. (Don’t worry—it’s not!) Still, it provides perfect photo opportunities for those brave enough to venture near it.

31 Extraordinary Places To Visit In North America

Prada Art Installation (Marfa, Texas): Does anything say Texas quite like a $120,000 “pop architectural land art project” of a designer Italian shoe store? Perhaps. But you will not find anything like this anywhere else on the continent.

31 Extraordinary Places To Visit In North America

Gray Malin

The Desert of Maine (Freeport, Maine): The flat sands of America’s northeastern-most state beckon those who have already stuffed themselves to bursting with lobster. Although not a real desert, the 40 acres of glacial silt is close to the real thing.

  1. With comedic wit, virtuosic drumming, and unique showmanship, junk rock keeps you movin' and groovin' to the beat! Their show was kind of amazing. I took a business trip and planned to go to Las Vegas for a long time. The conference surpassed all my expectations, it was very interesting to meet different speakers and colleagues. But most of all I remember the KA Review of Cirque Du Soleil Show , which I saw for the first time and impressed me very much. So buy tickets for your family and children. This is a great idea for that. to relax and spend the weekend with benefits.
