Police officers all over the world work hard to keep people safe. Composite sketches are one among the instruments that can help them arrest criminals, although it happens less often than one can imagine. According to Charlie Frowd, a British researcher, the accuracy of this investigation method is approximately 9%.
The thing is that people are not used to perceiving human faces as consisting of different parts. We tend to see a face as a whole, and it’s difficult to describe a mouth or a nose separately. Also, the artist’s skills also play a big role.
