Photographers are excellent assistance for historians: they capture the most memorable events and significant facts, and they can explain the atmosphere of an entire era. However, unfortunately, the most exciting pictures of the past aren't shown in the history books in school. Therefore, we decided to show you what the first scooter was like, what Charlie Chaplin looked like when he was young, and who Mark Twain was friends with.

Coca-Cola advertisement in Venice
Venice is popular for the number of pigeons there. The local authorities even prohibit the tourists to feed the birds on St. Mark’s Square as there are a lot of them. Coca-Cola used it for their advertisement campaign in 1960: they spread the seeds, so the pigeons which flew to eat them made a gigantic Coca-Cola inscription.
Mark Twain in Tesla’s lab
Telsa and Twain were good friends even though the famous writer was 21 years older than Tesla. Twain spent a lot of time in his friend’s lab. Once, he even wanted to test Tesla’s rejuvenating electric current. The experiment did not end well, and the writer felt sick afterward. This picture was made in 1894. Twain holds an experimental electronic lamp.
