Polish artist and graphic designer Dawid Planeta illustrates gigantic beasts in his series of mind-blowing grayscale illustrations set in a mystic land. Named Mini People in the Jungle, his work addresses the artist’s personal experience with depression and his mental journey through dark times. Planeta explains that it is a story of a person descending into darkness and chaos searching for himself.
A tiny figure appears throughout the poignant series, maybe representing Planeta himself. He has seen wandering through the fog-filled labyrinth, courageously facing the ominous jungle animals that feature glowing eyes which illuminate the darkness. It's like they're guiding him through the deep jungle, discovering his inner strength.
Despite the difficulty of facing depression, Planeta managed to channel his feelings into creativity successfully. You can discover more from Planeta’s portfolio on Behance, and you can also purchase prints from the Mini People in the Jungle series on Display.
