Albinism is caused by a naturally occurring melanin deficiency which results in a lack of color in the skin, fur, hair, and the iris of the eye. In humans, there's one albino in every twenty thousand newborns.
This condition is common in all animals and strangely in Africa, to the South of the Sahara, they're born way more often. Whether it be insects, antelopes, alligators, the condition occurs across species. It is probably not easy to be a white croc, a white antelope, or a white lion in the jungle but it does not make them any less than their colored colleagues. We have compiled photos of 21 albino animals that are very rare, and this may be one of the few places you catch a glimpse of them, ever.
