For the first time, humans can listen to the sound of wind on Mars thanks to a new NASA spacecraft which touched down on the Red Planet.
NASA's new tool, the Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport, also known as ‘InSight,’ touched down on Mars on November 26, 2018.
On December 1, 2018, InSight sensors captured a haunting low rumble caused by vibrations of the wind, estimated to be blowing between 10 to 15 mph (16 to 24 kph). These winds were consistent with the direction of dust devil streaks in the landing area, which were observed from orbit, according to NASA.

What’s even more amazing about InSight’s exciting discovery is that the NASA team was not even planning on capturing the previously unheard wind.
As InSight principal investigator, Bruce Banerdt said: “Capturing this audio was an unplanned treat. But one of the things our mission is dedicated to is measuring motion on Mars, and naturally, that includes motion caused by sound waves.”
BREAKING: Humans have never before heard the sound of wind on Mars until now! Listen to #SoundsOfMars as recorded by @NASAInSight as Martian winds swept over our lander. Best with headphones or a subwoofer. https://t.co/VreQxcAnAM pic.twitter.com/yd98NgZgR3

The wind vibrations were detected by two sensitive sensors on the InSight spacecraft: an air pressure sensor in the lander and a seismometer sitting on the lander's deck.
InSight will act as a giant ear on Mars which will measure any sound or pressure fluctuations of the wind, tectonic movement, earthquakes, or volcanism. But, NASA promises an even clearer sound of the Red Planet is coming with the Mars 2020 rover which will have two microphones on board.
This is historic. It's the first time anyone has ever heard a sound on Mars.@NASAJPL just released audio of wind blowing across the Martian landscape, captured by the Mars Lander's audio sensors.

The rover will record the sound of its landing for the first time. It'll also record the sound of the laser of the instrument as it zaps different materials, helping to identify the material based on the sound it makes.
When I asked whether Dr, wakina and his spell can set me up to my estranged husband, tbh I was never anticipating a sincere honesty from him as I made my plea because I was scared of falling into the wrong hand of someone that will take advantage of my desperation 😫. So, I avoided letting desperate situation make me do desperate things which I might regret in future. It was different with Dr. Wakina, I have never seen a man of his kind tbh, he was more like a spiritual father and guardian angel 😇 via dr.wakinalovetemple@gmail.com.
ReplyDeleteMy husband grew to resent and detest me but not once has my love waivered for him. However, things ended between us as we became enemies, communication ended as we live apart together. But I was deeply hurt regardless of his shortcomings 💔. He was always shitting me out of his life when he was seeing someone else, he even blocked me from his Facebook page.
Well, the above ordeal is part of our success story today after love spell cast by Dr. Wakina, my CUPCAKE ❤ wants to be with me till the end of time 💃🌈🎉
