It’s heartbreaking to imagine there are people out there who would abandon an animal when they’re at their most vulnerable moment.
But, unfortunately, that’s precisely what happened to one poor pooch, that was left on the street face down in her wheelchair.
The gorgeous doggo named Lunita was tied up outside a local grooming shop in Argentina with nothing but her wheelchair and a bag of nappies in a horrendous act of cruelty.
It was only when a passerby saw her and decided to take her to a local veterinarian clinic, that she was given the care Lunita needed. Vets even gave her brand new wheelchair, which allowed her to walk again, breathing life into the pooch once again.
Shortly after Lunita was found, an American family contacted the organization and offered to give the dog a permanent home. Nevertheless, it was quickly determined this family weren’t taking proper care of the dog, and so she was returned to the organization.
Fortunately, another American family stepped in and took her in, and she quickly started recovering and became the happy dog she always could’ve been.
Playing with her dog siblings daily, running around and visiting parks, Lunita’s paralysis was never an obstacle for her thanks to her custom-built wheelchair, which helped her move.
Lunita’s celebrated her 11th birthday on June 15th, 2018, with all her dog friends and her new family, enjoying a dog-friendly birthday cake.
Tragically, however, just as she was getting comfortable in her new life, the dog got sick only one month after her birthday and was admitted into the ICU at the University Medical Hospital, where she passed away.
Rest in peace, Lunita.
