Jon Stewart and his wife Tracey bought a farm in New Jersey that acts as a sanctuary for a range of abused animals. They plan on opening up an educational center on the property too, which is located approximately 50 miles outside of New York City, near New Jersey.
The pair’s animal sanctuary at Bufflehead Farm is a home for four dogs, three rabbits, two pigs, two guinea pigs, two fish, and a bird.
The couple acquired the property in 2013 but announced their plans for it in 2015. They’re interested in helping any type of abused animals, but especially those who have been taken from factory farms.
They hope to add many more animals to their farm in the months and years to come, including sheep, chicken, goats, turkeys, cows, and pigs to arrive at the Bufflehead Farm in New Jersey.
Jon said that his love for animals was inspired by his wife Tracey, a vegan that wrote a book about how to understand animals.
The former Daily Show host is currently living a more relaxed lifestyle on the farm, but as he told an audience at an award show, sometimes he misses the spotlight.
