Diving in the Formoso River in Brazil in July 2019, Bartolomeo Bove and his friend Juca Ygarape came upon a giant Green Anaconda, measuring 23 foot (7meter) and weighing in at around 198 lbs (90kg).
In the footage, the snake is seen lying on the riverbed. Then the reptile is shown eyeing the camera up close, flicking its tongue and swimming away from Bove and his camera. Bove follows, trying to get more footage of this giant.
Bove did manage to get some incredible footage, saying his video shows how misunderstood the anaconda is in that they're not as aggressive as they're made out to be.
The Green Anaconda is the world's largest species of snake and can grow up to a shocking 30ft (9.1m) and weigh up to 550lbs (250kg).
Green Anacondas move with lightning speed and kill their prey by constricting its breathing, wrapping their bodies tightly around their victims. Their ability to unhinge their jaws allows them to swallow prey many animals larger than themselves.
