Roman McConn began rescuing animals with the help of his mom Jennifer. For his fourth birthday, instead of presents, the little boy asked his friends and family to donate to an animal rescue in Texas.
Three years later, the little hero has rescued over 1,300 unwanted dogs and 40 cats!
Roman wants to help the animals that are most in need, like those enlisted for euthanasia in shelters.
His mom records a video every time Roman plays with a homeless dog or a cat and then posts it on their Facebook page to help them get adopted.
The shelter staff claims Roman is a real-life “dog whisperer” as before playing with the animals, he talks to them and thus reveals their personalities.
The boy is fully dedicated to the improvement of animal welfare. He also volunteers with a relocation network community founded by his mother, named Project Freedom Ride, intending to link vulnerable dogs and cats in Georgia and Texas with families in the Pacific Northwest.
After a detailed vetting process and reference checks, dogs can be adopted either directly from Texas or from their receiving partners.
