Australian photographer Christian Spencer, nature and indigenous cultures lover, decided to turn his interest into professional painting work back in 1996, in Adelaide.
Having lived within Itatiaia National Park in Brazil for 19 years, he discovered one of its many natural miracles: the black Jacobin hummingbird.
Famous by its high-pitched song, the beautiful Brazilian bird has always stunned people.
In 2011, Spencer managed to capture the perfect moment of the sun illuminating a black Jacobin hummingbird when it created a prism effect that colored the bird's body like a rainbow.
Spencer's work was included in his short film, The Dance of Time, that brought him ten international awards and three best film honors. He revisited the subject years later and take photos of the same phenomenon.
His most recent work of art, Winged Prism, won a prize at the Museum of Modern Art in Resende RJ Brazil.
