During a time when many people find themselves traveling across the U.S., loosening their belts by another notch, and completing their personal Black Friday wishlists, one couple from Texas got the week off to an amazingly selfless start that left one local waitress pleasantly shocked.
Denny’s waitress Adrianna Edwards walks seven miles to work and seven miles back home again for every shift she works at the restaurant.
While enjoying their breakfast in Galveston, Texas, a couple had a chance to hear the story of Edwards's lengthy commute—and the fact that she's been saving up to buy a car. That morning, the kind waitress gave the woman some extra ice cream.
‘I FEEL LIKE I’M DREAMING.’ This Galveston woman walked 14 miles to and from work. That all changed after two customers changed her life. After serving the couple, they returned with a car. Watch the perfect pre-Thanksgiving story only on @abc13houston at 6pm. pic.twitter.com/EnUlXxrsKb

After the couple finished their meal and leaving the restaurant, they went to nearby Classic Galveston Auto Group on Broadway Street, where they bought a car. Mere hours after leaving Denny’s, the pair returned with the keys to surprise Edwards with a 2011 Nissan Sentra along with a note, instantly transforming the waitress's five-hour walk to a quick 30-minute commute by car.
