People around the world are furious as China celebrates the "end" of the novel coronavirus pandemic by returning to the cruel wildlife trade activities that were the source of the virus outbreak in the first place.
Despite increasing evidence suggesting that the novel coronavirus pandemic originated in wild animals that were sold for consumption in Wuhan, China has now lifted the ban on wildlife trade and reopens its markets.
The news is devastating, with China irresponsibly going back to business as usual, as thousands of people around the world continue to get infected and die from the virus that originated in the country's wildlife markets.
Terrified animals are packed into small rusty cages including, cats and dogs. Wild animals like bats and scorpions are once again available for sale as medicine. Rabbits and cats are skinned and slaughtered alive next to each other on a floor covered with intestines.
News correspondents in various wild animal market locations across China share pictures that illustrate the return of the unacceptable wildlife trade practices. One of the pictures taken in Dongguan, shows bats and scorpions being advertised for sale as medicine. Note that scientific evidence suggests that bats have been the source of the virus outbreak upon consumption by humans in China.
China's decision to allow the return of the morally irresponsible and cruel wild animal trade stems from a need to boost the economy by encouraging consumption regardless of the health risks.
A correspondent with the Daily Mail based in China informs us that:
"Everyone here believes the outbreak is over and there's nothing to worry about anymore. It's just a foreign problem now as far as they are concerned."
The correspondent in Dongguan reported:
"The markets have gone back to operating in exactly the same way as they did before coronavirus. The only difference is that security guards try to stop anyone taking pictures, which would never have happened before."
Wuhan's markets were found to carry the first CoVid-19 cases, but people were forced to remain silent, including Li Wenliang, a doctor aged 33 who died from the virus.
In an effort to avoid responsibility, the Chinese government has started to build conspiracy theories that claim the outbreak did not start in China's markets. A long-discredited story shared on China's Weibo social media platform claims that the CoVid-19 outbreak originated in Italy last November.
In the meantime, China is engaging in blameshifting, too, by accusing the US army of being responsible for bringing the virus to the country.
