Thank You Mom For Teaching Me How To Love

Close your eyes and go back to your childhood. You and your mom, walking to school, the minute before you arrive, you leave your mother's hand, you didn't want anyone to see you, you were ashamed.

It's ok to admit that now you are ashamed of letting her hand...

At this age, we all took for granted our mother's love, her devotion, her care. And, from time to time, we didn't appreciate any of these. After all, she's our mum.

We believe that our parents are just grumpy adults that have no clue how to enjoy life and always find something to complain about.

As the years go by and we become adults, we start finding ourselves into our parents' shoes. We understand that they were indeed right for practically everything they told us. We can see that all their actions, their complaints, sometimes their criticism, had only one reason, their love. Each and everything they said or did was because they wanted to protect and teach us.

Go back to your childhood once more. Who was there every time you fell, every time you came back from the playground with scratched knees? Who was there the nights that you woke up frightened from a nightmare? Who chased away all the monsters from your closet? Your mom. She was there every time to kiss your wounds and chase the bad dreams and the monsters away.

Mum is the first person to acknowledge her children's talents and encourage them to keep chasing their dreams. Mothers supply their children with all the right ways to go after their passions and grow up to be the best versions of themselves.

Mothers are the reason why we know how to love.

Being a mom means to love. To love unconditionally. She is the first person that loved us. Your mom was and will always be there for you, believing in you, even when you don't believe in yourself. She will try to be next to you to support you through your life's journey. Also, you can't argue with the fact that you became this friendly, compassionate person, basically because of the precious life lessons your mother has taught you.

The important moral values such as respect, compassion, generosity, honesty, and integrity, your mother taught them to you. She left aside her needs and wants in order to make sure that you have everything you'll ever want, even before you dream about it. If you think about it, you had this careless, happy, innocent childhood because of her.

If she knew how to use Instagram properly, she would be your favorite influencer. And you know it.

She managed to keep your family's balance; she cherished everyone's happiness more than hers. She tried to be happy, smiling, and she never let the troubles to reach you, and the rest of the family. She never allows you to see the difficulties of holding a family together while you were still enjoying the freedom of your childhood.

Hey Mom,
I love you, and you know? Thank you. For everything.

Thank you for all the times that you loved me, even when I didn't deserve it. Thank you for all your sacrifices. Thank you for being there every time, even when I didn't know that I needed you, you always knew.

I am thankful and proud of having such an extraordinary, tender, wonderful mother.

Thank you for showing me that my flaws are the best part and teaching me how to accept them in order to embrace myself. And most of all, thank you for supporting me become the person I am today, for always inspiring me to do better, and for believing in me when no one else did.

Cheers to all the brilliant, strong women who raised us! Thank you!
