Pentagon Releases UFO Videos And Admits It Doesn’t Have A Clue What They Are

In truly bizarre news, the Pentagon, the HQ of the United States military, has declassified three videos apparently showing UFOs in the sky, all of which were taken by US military pilots during routine missions over US airspace.

The three videos had previously been released in 2017, two by The New York Times and one by To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science - a UFO research group set up by Tom DeLonge, a singer with US pop-punk band Blink-182.

Due to widespread rumours and controversy surrounding the videos, the US Department of Defense, took the decision to publicly declassify the videos and release them to the public. They said in a statement, in which they confirmed they could not explain the observed phenomena:

"DOD is releasing the videos in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos … The aerial phenomena observed in the videos remain characterized as unidentified."

One of the videos dates from 2004 while the others are believed to have been taken during military flights in 2014 and 2015 on the US East-Coast. The first video (the one released by DeLonge’s group) shot in daytime shows a long oblong object floating in the sky. It suddenly darts from the screen at what would be a monumental speed, descending from 60,000 feet to 50 feet in a matter of seconds.

The other two videos show small objects flying over water at an extremely high speed. Five Navy pilots who spoke to The New York Times in 2017 are said to have stated that they had multiple encounters with unidentified objects over a period of time and that they moved in ways that would not have been possible through known human technology.

The three clips, titled: "FLIR.mp4," "GOFAST.wmv" and "GIMBAL.wmv", can be found on the Naval Air Systems Command website and are available to download.

Harry Reid, a Former Senate Majority Leader, praised the release of the videos by the Pentagon saying:

"I’m glad the Pentagon is finally releasing this footage, but it only scratches the surface of research and materials available. The US needs to take a serious, scientific look at this and any potential national security implications. The American people deserve to be informed."

It is hardly the first time military and civilian pilots have seen unknown objects in the sky. Since the 1950s (and even before) ‘alien’ sightings have become a mainstay of, particularly US, culture. While no one can explain the recent videos, including the Pentagon, there is no reason to believe the UFOs are the result of alien visitors.

What seems to be peculiar, is that sightings from the ground, often correlate together with many people seeing objects over a short period of time. Once such swarm of sightings occurred in Manitoba, Canada, when the region was host to a wave of sightings of UFOs.
