On June the 1st, United States President, Donald Trump, shocked the country by announcing he is about to deploy the military in an effort to stop the tension from rioting in Washington DC. He also confirmed that he intends to implement military intervention in every area in the country where local authorities fail to restore order.
Around 6:30pm, Trump showed up in the White House Rose Garden, saying that the United States has been gripped by “domestic terror” of “professional anarchists and violent mobs” who drowned out the “righteous cries of peaceful protests” over the death of George Floyd, Reuters reports.
The entire country has been justifiably outraged by Floyd's cruel and unfair death Trump said, but since the protests had been spiraling out of control and resulting in violence. He said that, in Washington DC alone, rioters vandalised the Lincoln Memorial and the WWII monument and set on fire the historic church near the White House. “These are not acts of peaceful protest, these are acts of domestic terror,” he stated.

Determined to end the “riots and lawlessness” immediately, the President said it is “strongly recommended” that every state governor deploys the National Guard in adequate numbers so as to “dominate” the areas and shut down riots. If governors fail in doing so, he stated he that he "will deploy the US military and quickly solve the problem for them.”
Trump also admitted that “heavily armed” US troops have already been dispatched to the streets of Washington DC to “stop the rioting, looting, vandalism, assaults and wanton destruction of property.”
He also described groups of "Antifa and others" as organisers of "terror" which will have to face criminal charges and prison penalties.
Just before Trump's appearance, loud explosions were reported near the White House. Footage from the protests outside revealed mounted police disbanding masked demonstrators, while flash-bang grenades and tear gas went off.
Even though the officers that were caught on video murdering Floyd, were immedietly fired, and Derek Chauvin was charged with third degree murder, prostests were escalated into riots in Minneapolis, last Wednesday. The riots then spread to St. Paul, as well as, 75 other large cities across the US during the weekend.
