It is now widely accepted by the medical community and by governments across the world that wearing a facemask, particularly in enclosed spaces, likely reduces the spread of Covi-19. At a minimum, wearing a mask does absolutely no harm to anyone, while potentially limiting the spread of a deadly disease that has already killed half a million people, including 125,000 in the United States alone.
There has however been a backlash against mask-wearing by so-called 'Karens', for whom the minor inconvenience of wearing a bit of cloth over their face for the small amount of time they are in the store is worse than catching, or spreading, a deadly incurable disease.
One such bizarre case was caught on video in Hillsboro, Oregon, showed a woman launching an impromptu protest against a grocery store, Costco, after staff asked her to leave if she did not wear a mask. Even if laws did not apply the privately owned store was within its legal right to ask customers to wear a mask. The woman also refused to follow social distancing guidelines.

Bizarrely, the woman even has a mask on her face but allows it to dangle from her ear as opposed to actually making it cover her nose and mouth. When asked politely by staff to wear a mask, and even offering to meet her outside, she refuses and begins a sit down protest. The General manager is then called who interacts with the woman.
She cries:
"I want to speak to your boss."
And:
"I'm not leaving. Do you want to carry me? I am an American. I have constitutional rights!"
Videos of such bizarre protests have become common in the United States, with some believing the virus is a conspiracy or that wearing a mask somehow violates their constitutional rights. Constitutional rights obviously do not cover safety measures such as wearing masks. If they did, things such as food safety, speed limits and warnings on products would also 'violate constitutional rights'.

It seems that the Karen is prevalent throughout society, a self-righteous, over-entitled know-it-all who believes her inconvenience is more important than other people's lives.
