It has been reported that Ghislaine Maxwell, the alleged madam of Jeffrey Epstein's child-sex ring, is suffering terribly in prison and is subject to an intense regime at the hands of prison authorities.
Maxwell is currently being held in remand at a prison in New York accused of bringing young girls into Epstein's sordid world and then operating a pyramid type scheme to continually bring in more and more victims.
Reports allege that Maxwell is followed by CCTV cameras everywhere she goes and that the light is never turned off in her prison cell, in which she is held in solitary confinement. She is also woken up every 15 minutes by guards who are fearful that she will attempt to take her own life.
In a statement, Maxwell's lawyer Bobbi Sternheim said:
"Ms. Maxwell has spent the entirety of her pretrial detention in de facto solitary confinement under the most restrictive conditions where she is excessively and invasively searched and is monitored 24 hours a day."
It goes on to say that Maxwell, who does not have CoVid-19, has been quarantined for 12 days without soap or a toothbrush and that she has only been out of her cell three times in that period. It also claims that she is held in worse conditions than those accused of terrorism or murder.
Jeffrey Epstein killed himself in prison in late 2019 while he was awaiting trial for multiple sex-offences spanning many years. Many believe that he was in fact murdered by powerful individuals who wished to silence him due to their own involvement in the sex-ring.
High-profile figures who had relationships with Epstein include Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton, Donald Trump and a host of other prominent businessmen and politicians. Prince Andrew has been accused of being involved with a 17-year-old girl after a meeting that was arranged by Epstein. He has since been removed by the British Royal Family from official public duties.
A Netflix documentary 'Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich' looked in depth at the allegations involving Epstein and his associates, including Maxwell, as well as hearing first-hand testimonies from victims, the number of which is believed to be in the hundreds.
A U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York said of Maxwell's case:
"Maxwell enticed minor girls, got them to trust her, then developed them into the trap that she and Epstein had set for them. She pretended to be a woman they could trust. All the while, she was setting them up to be sexually abused by Epstein and, in some cases, by Maxwell herself."
Some fear that Ghislaine Maxwell is about to name powerful individuals involved in the sex-ring in order to obtain a lesser sentence and that she too may be murdered to guarantee her silence.
