The lockdown has been unlike anything most of us have experienced in our lifetimes. It has robbed us of the opportunity to spend time with others and go about our day-to-day lives. In such times though, many have had their days brightened by small acts of kindness and fun, and from seeing such acts beeing shared online.
One such incident that has warmed the hearts of millions is a video that was posted online of a little girl who we are told dances with the mailman every day. 3-year-old Avlina, and postal worker Ian Simon have made a daily routine of dancing through the window of Alvina's home, as he delivers his letters and parcels to her and her neighbours' homes. The daily dance has really given Avlina something to look forward to every day after being kept away from her friends for so long, and we are sure Ian has thoroughly looked forward to his daily visits as well.

The video, which was captured by Avlina's dad, has now been watched millions of times across a range of platforms including TikTok, Youtube, twitter and Facebook.
Perhaps the cutest thing about this dance is that there is often no music at all, so the pair just improvise as they go along!
"Ian waves to everyone in the neighbourhood and always has a smile on his face. He really helps her and all of us through this pandemic. He's an amazing mail person."
The internet was full of praise for the dancers, with one individual commenting:
"The sweetest thing in the world. My goodness…it made me cry immediately!! Both of my parents were postal workers and I appreciate this so much!! Keep dancin!"
While another added:
"Thank you for making and sharing this beautiful video. I can't stop watching it with tears in my eyes and Ian deserves every bit of recognition he gets from this…"
Avlina's dad, David, said of the viral video:
"Wow, I am literally so blown away by the sheer volume of kind words that I have inspired. People have said the nicest things about that video I made, about the mailman and my daughter. I just don't even know what to say about it, other than thank you."
