Seeing two animals that wouldn't naturally be seen together show love and compassion to one another goes to show that innate kindness is not something that is the sole reserve of humans, far from it.
Often, when brought into the right circumstances, animals can get along even if it is against their natural inclination. In fact, there have been documented cases of everything from cats and mice, to big cats and deer, to bears and dogs, that have gotten on well together after finding themselves in unusual circumstances. This is most certainly the case for Bailey, a golden retriever, and his four bunny companions.
When the baby bunnies were brought to Bailey's home when they were just 22 days old, he immediately took a shine to them, seeing them as tiny furry playmates to protect and nurture. He also enjoyed gently playing with them. The bunnies also loved cuddling into Bailey just like they would their mother, and it is very possible the bunnies now see Bailey as their parent.
Bailey and the bunnies now spend all of their time together, with the bunnies often returning to Bailey and nuzzling up to his face to show affection. Bailey seems to really enjoy the company too, adding another dimension to his life.
This amazing video shows Bailey and the bunnies together, with Bailey giving them licks of affection as the tiny little ones cavort around him and over him. You can really tell that they enjoy being in each other's company and that they feel safe around him.
The babies will now grow up big and strong with Bailey by their side.
