It has been reported that former US President Donald Trump is planning to return to social-media, according to a Trump spokesperson.
The former president was banned from both Twitter and Facebook following the riots at the Capitol building in which several people died. He has been accused by those social media platforms of spreading false information and speaking incendiary words that could lead to violence.
Jason Miller, who is a long-time Trump spokesperson and advisor, told Fox that the former president was planning a return to social-media in one form or another over the next 2 to 3 months. He added that as he is banned from Twitter and Facebook, he would be launching his own online platform that can reach tens-of-millions of people. Miller said:
"This is something that I think will be the hottest ticket in social media. It's going to completely redefine the game, and everybody is going to be waiting and watching to see what President Trump does, but it will be his own platform."
"This new platform is going to be big. Everyone wants him and he's going to bring millions and millions -- tens of millions -- to this platform."

President Trump became notorious both before and after his presidency for his use of social-media, most notably Twitter. On the platform, he continually attacked enemies, pushed forward bizarre conspiracy theories, and made statements that were clearly not spell-checked or evaluated by any other individual, given that they were riddled with spelling-errors and typos.
Several smaller social-media networks have been set up in the past in an attempt to take on Facebook and Twitter, all of whom have failed, others have been set up to cater to niche interests. Some of these platforms have been set up previously intended for use by Trump supporters and far-right groups. Many of these individuals had previously been banned from the main social-networks or wished to say things that would lead to them being banned.
Some have speculated that Trump, or at least a member of the Trump family, may attempt to run for president at the 2024 elections. A failed attempt at impeaching Trump shortly after his presidency ended failed, if he had been impeached, he would then have been banned from running for any public office ever again. By the time of the 2024 election, Trump will be 78-years-old, even older than current president Joe Biden.
