This Bengal cat has racked up more than 220,000 followers on Instagram and is being hailed as one of the most beautiful felines in the world.
Thor is certainly majestic. With his sharp piercing eyes and tiger-like stripes he epitomises everything about the Bengal breed.
Bengals are a mixture of domestic cat with an element of the Asian leopard cat. The ratio between Asian leopard cat and domestic cat, usually the Egyptian Mau, varies from cat to cat, with those with a greater level of leopard cat tending to be more prized for cat shows. They also tend to be more expensive.
The breed was officially accepted as an official breed by the cat registry in 1983, though various genetic versions of the cat have existed since the late 19th century. In recent years, they have become vastly more popular and the more domestic cats have become one of the most commonly purchased pedigree cats in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Bengals with a high ratio of leopard cat do however remain banned in some states, including New York.
Bengals are regarded as very playful and highly active, usually taking more exercise than the average domestic cat. They are also known to sometimes have a fondness for water and are known to wade just like tigers and some other big cats.
Thor's owner Rani Cucicov told Bored Panda:
"I definitely feel like his servant!. Whenever he opens his mouth, we are ready to serve him, but I gotta admit that we get lots of love in place for it!"
