An email sent from Hollywood Star George Clooney to the prosecution lawyer in the Derek Chauvin trial has been released, in which Clooney says that during the trial, Chauvin should have been asked if someone should be allowed to kneel on his neck for 9 minutes.
Derek Chauvin was convicted of killing George Floyd while he was a police officer in Minneapolis by kneeling on his neck for 9 minutes during Floyd's arrest.
The email was revealed after Chauvin's conviction when the prosecution attorney, Benjamin Crump, appeared on the talk show 'The View'.
One wonders why the gov is bothering to have a trial at all. It's apparently so clear that Chauvin is guilty of murder that anything short of life w/o parole will lead to

On 'The View' Crump said Clooney was 'very engaged' in these social issues and went on to say:
"He [Clooney} says, 'Attorney Crump, you should tell them if Derek Chauvin feels so confident in that, he should volunteer during his case to get down on the floor in that courtroom and let somebody come and put their knee on his neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds and be able to see if he can survive."
The attorney added:
"The experts will opine during this case that the average human being can go without oxygen from 30 seconds to 90 seconds—where George Floyd went without oxygen for over 429 seconds, and that's why it was intentional what this officer did. And I believe in my heart…that he will be held criminally liable and it will hopefully set a new precedent in America."

Last week Derek Chauvin was convicted on charges of second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
During the trial, the defence team had argued that George Floyd had died of natural causes brought on by health problems and drug use. This claim was rejected by the jury, who found Chauvin guilty on all counts. He now faces a potential 75 years behind bars when sentencing is carried out.
Clooney has spoken out against racism before, saying last year:
"It infects all of us, and in 400 years we've yet to find a vaccine. It seems we've stopped even looking for one and we just try to treat the wound on an individual basis."
