A Swedish inventor has created a special chair for pets who need attention while their owners are on Zoom calls.
During the pandemic, most of us have been spending a lot more time at home. This has also meant a lot of us using Zoom and other apps to speak directly with our workmates and customers, it has also meant a lot more time being spent with our pets.
Unfortunately, while many of our pets love the fact that we are home with them all of the time, it has also led them to expect that we should be giving them our undivided attention. This has resulted in many cats and dogs and other creatures making a nuisance of themselves while professional calls are occurring.
The new invention, created by Swedish inventor and Youtuber Simone Giertz, means that the furry friend can sit right next to their owner without causing too many distractions.
Giertz explained:
"My dog would really prefer it if I turned myself into a dog bed. Since I'm not too keen on that project, I built her a chair instead. I built a chair for needy pets that always want to sit next to you."
Giertz then showed off the invention on YouTube. The video has now been watched almost 800,000 times, which means there is probably a huge market for the product should it be sold commercially:
The internet was very impressed with the invention with YouTubers commenting:
"I need one. Can't imagine how much more I'd get done if I was constantly picking up and putting back down my little Furpunzel every 10 minutes."
"As i'm watching this i'm sitting on the front 1/3 of a chair and my cat is sitting behind me taking up the rest. I need something like this and my craft skills are really not up to the task."
And:
"My mom needs something like this! Our dogs like to sit behind her while she works, and the current method is just them taking up space in the seat of her normal office chair, haha."
