In a recent interview with CNN, Sean Cahill, a retired US Navy Chief Master at Arms, spoke of his encounters with UFOs while serving in the US Navy. The incident happened in 2004 and is now being taken seriously by Congress, who have opened up an investigation into the phenomena.
Unidentified Flying Objects, or as The Pentagon calls them "unidentified aerial phenomena" (UAPs), were long dismissed as the work of cranks or misinterpretations of natural occurrences, but recent videos released by The Pentagon seem to be highly unusual and with no real explanation.
In the interview with CNN, Cahill says that he witnessed a tic-tac oval-shaped object that behaved in ways that no known Earth-bound vehicle could behave and which seemed to have technology 100 or even 1000 years more advanced than our own.
He said:
"In 2004, I was the chief master at arms on board the USS Prince. The technology we witnessed with the Tic Tac was something that we would not have been able to defend our forces against at the time."
He added:
"It's a technology that outstrips our arsenal by at least 100 to 1,000 years at the moment. First of all, the aircraft had zero control surfaces. It had no means of propulsion we could detect. It moved at hypersonic velocities and it preceded the pilots to their CAP [combat air patrol rendezvous] point. It seemed to have some knowledge of where the pilots were headed ahead of time. We don't possess those abilities, to do that in our arsenal at the moment."
Another defence department intelligence spokesperson also told CNN that he witnessed UFO activity over Virginia air force bases almost every day for 2 years.
Christopher Mellon, former deputy assistant secretary of defense for intelligence, said:
"Because we have recurring violations of US airspace by unidentified vehicles. They are very capable and in some cases more capable than anything in our own inventory. This has been going on for years. The truth is just emerging. We had a massive intelligence failure, and we have an unknown threat that we need to figure out."
The Pentagon is currently putting together a report via its Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force that will make its findings public later in the year.
