A source has claimed that Bill Gates' meeting with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein disgusted his wife, Melinda Gates, and that she demanded that she had nothing to do with him. According to a source speaking to the Daily Beast, the meeting happened in 2013, five years after Epstein had been convicted for soliciting an underage prostitute.
Melinda was so furious about the meeting she demanded Bill no longer continue any relationship with the disgraced financier. The source claims that:
"Bill's friendship with Epstein… still haunts Melinda."
It is known that the two have had a relationship going back to the 1990s, which they state was based upon philanthropy and not upon any other business.
The story emerged after Bill and Melinda Gates announced they were divorcing after 27 years of marriage. While the couple claims the divorce is amicable, others say that there is acrimony behind the scenes. The divorce is likely to be the most expensive in history and could make Melinda one of the richest women in the world.

Epstein killed himself in 2019 while in prison in New York. He was awaiting trial for his part in an underage sex trafficking ring that is said to have involved hundreds of young girls and could have potentially involved dozens of wealthy people.
Epstein had a previous conviction for soliciting an underage prostitute in 2008, something Gates would have likely known about prior to their meeting.
Prince Andrew was one of the most prominent individuals to be snared by his relationship with Epstein, and it is claimed by one of the victims that the prince actively took part in sexual activity with underage girls. He has since been retired from royal duties.
Epstein also had relationships with Bill Clinton, Donald Trump and a variety of other prominent people. His long-term partner Ghislaine Maxwell is currently awaiting trial for her part in running the sex trafficking ring.
While Epstein's death was ruled a suicide, many have claimed that he had been killed by powerful people who feared that he might name in order to get a lighter sentence.
