Russian President, Vladimir Putin, said this Wednesday that US President Joe Biden had contacted him on the phone to explain why he had called him a 'killer' and that his explanation was satisfactory.
Putin stated this at a news conference following a summit in Geneva with Biden.
During An ABC News broadcast interview this March, Biden had replied 'I do' after he was asked whether he thought that Putin is a killer.
This resulted in Russia recalling its ambassador in Washington for consultations and also the US ambassador in Moscow to return home. Putin and Biden later agreed to return their ambassadors at the summit on Wednesday.
Speaking of Biden's ABC interview, Putin said:
"As regards those sharp declarations what can I say, we're all familiar with them. President Biden phoned me afterwards and we exchanged views on the subject. These explanations suited me."
Putin went on to state the numerous human rights violations performed by US authorities and emphasised the fact that the US military was responsible for the murder of civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He said:
"Who takes responsibility for that? Who is the murderer?"
