Social-media was filled with pictures, memes and questions after British Olympic diver Tom Daley was photographed knitting while spectating other divers at the women's 3m springboard final.
Daley was seen knitting while wearing his Team GB outfit at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre.
BBC commentator Katherine Downes said on live television:
"There's Tom Daley - he's got his knitting needles out. What do you reckon he's crafting there? I wonder who he's making that purple concoction for?"
It was later revealed by Daley that he was knitting a jumper for his dog.

Saying on Instagram:
"I made my friends some doggy jumpers! It is the cutest little pattern to follow by @knittingland ❤️ How cute do they all look?! I was making another one at the pool yesterday lol"
He said in a later post:
"The one thing that has kept me sane throughout this whole process is my love for knitting and crochet and all things stitching."
Daley won the Olympic Gold medal earlier this week alongside partner Matty Lee in the synchronised 10m platform event. After the historic victory Daley even showed off his gold medal in a tiny-crocheted holder.
