A grandfather from Scotland has travelled to Ukraine to assist in the country's fight against the invasion of Russian forces.
In a video shared online, Rab Grady, from Edinburgh, is seen holding an assault rifle and wearing a flak jacket.
Grady, said:
"My name is Rob. I'm a 61-year-old grandfather from Scotland."
The BBC estimates that approximately 100 Scottish poeple have volunteered to fight in the conflict in defence of Ukraine.
The UK's head of the armed forces, Adm. Sir Tony Radakin, has encouraged Britons to assist Ukrainian people from the UK rather than travelling to the country to fight themselves in the war.
Grady added:
"I've travelled to Ukraine to help Ukraine fight the Russians. I'll do anything I can in my power to save Ukraine from Putin. Anybody in the world, please Ukraine. They need everybody to help. Volunteers, please."
He stated in a message posted alongside the clip:
"This was my own free choice. I am a grown man. I've went to Ukraine to help the Ukrainian people in a criminal war."
Grady told BBC Scotland that he is accepted in joining an 'international legion' in Kyiv.
He also noted that he has previous military experience with the Territorial Army.
