A Ukrainian supplier of electric vehicle charging stations has been accused for manipulating the machines to display the messages: 'Slava Ukraini' (Glory to Ukraine) and 'Putin is a dickhead'.
The Russian company, Rosseti, said of the incident on Facebook:
"Charging stations installed on the M-11 route were purchased in 2020 according to the results of an open purchase procedure. The provider was given by the LLC 'Gzhelprom' (Russia). It was later discovered that the main components (incl. A. the controller) are actually produced by the company Autoenterprise (Ukraine), and the Russian supplier produced an open assembly. The manufacturer left a 'bookmark' in the controller, which gave him the opportunity to have hidden internet access."
According to Vice, since the invasion of Ukraine, videos circulated on social media show charging stations also displaying the messages 'GLORY TO UKRAINE / GLORY TO THE HEROES / PUTIN IS A DICKHEAD / DEATH TO THE ENEMY'.
This is not the only hack attempt in Russia. The hacking collective, Anonymous, have also claimed that they changed the maritime tracking data of Putin's yacht to read 'FCKPTN'.
