Knightscope K5, a robot employed as a security guard at GMMB communications agency in Washington DC, has committed suicide by falling into a fountain.
The robot was equipped with cameras and was built to be autonomous. The final moments of the robot were documented by people passing by and shared on Twitter.

The company's website states the robot's main features. These include, 'forensic capabilities', recording license plates and wireless signals. It was also equipped with a 'gun detection' feature.
K5 has been compared to R2-D2 partly due to its appearance.
The robot had accidentally ran over a 16-month-old toddler but drove off after. The mother of the child had told ABC7 News:
"The robot hit my son's head and he fell down facing down on the floor and the robot did not stop and it kept moving forward."
